PPGA history

The Graduate Program in Public and Business Administration began the Academic Master's course in 1976; The Professional Master's degree (MPA) in 2004; And the PhD Program in 2006. After forty years of existence PPGA is among the oldest programs in Brazil. Currently it has 26 faculties in the academic program and 12 in the MPA. PPGA is regarded as top 10 program Business, Accounting and Tourism according to Brazilian Funding Agency (CAPES). The CAPES ranking takes into account both faculties and students’ production, as well as the available infrastructure of the program. 

It has four lines of investigation: Public Administration and Public Policies; Organizational Studies and Human Resources Management; Strategy, Marketing and Innovation; and Finance and Quantitative Methods. To learn more about faculties, click on: http://www.ppga.unb.br/home/docentes. 

Because it is connected to a public university, there is no collection of fees for students in the academic courses. Regarding to PPGA studies quality, every year the students demand increases making the access to PPGA more and more competitive. The invoice for Brazilian students is issued annually. For foreigners, international notices are periodically posted on the PPGA website (www.ppga.unb.br/editais).

The didactic system requires the presence of the students, with activities taking place at the University of Brasilia, Darcy Ribeiro Campus – Brasilia, Brazil. The deadlines for completion of the master's degree is 24 months and 48 for the doctorate. Master or Ph.D tesis can be done in Portuguese, Spanish, English or French. 

In addition to curricular activities, students are required to participate in research groups, scientific events and research projects. The infrastructure includes a shared study room, a computer lab, a comprehensive Library, and access to international scientific journals.
